We are raising money for the PPE needs of our local healthcare community with a focus on reusable options to help provide sustainable sources of protection in these uncertain times when disposable options may be scarce. We have sourced a prefabricated reusable, nonporous, filtered, disinfect-able mask that provides more protection than a standard surgical mask. Coupled with a face shield (thanks to the Charlotte Latin students!), this would provide sustainable protection far safer than a plain surgical mask. Each mask is $7, to save a life.
We are working closely with United Safety & Survivability Corporation President & CEO, Joe Mirabile to design a more robust reusable filtered respirator mask that can be scaled with injection molding.
In addition, we are working with upholstery furniture manufacturer Stone & Leigh CFO, Gray Garner and Head of Product Development, Cindy Church in conjunction with Steve Hale of Hale Partnership alongside nearly 300 community seamstresses to create and produce reusable medical hoods and hooded coveralls.
All of the above community partners are graciously volunteering their creative abilities as well as their manufacturing structure to help provide these items AT OR BELOW COST. The funds we are able to collect will go to any or all of the above projects for sourcing items and materials to buy and create PPE.
*** If you are donating over $2,000 please contact us first to arrange a non-profit donation.
If you are a corporation wanting to sponsor or contribute to our movement financially, please contact us by email.
